Ready

Tomorrow John is leaving for 5 weeks. It's definitely a bittersweet feeling. Yesterday we signed on our house and as far as I know...it's a done deal. Closing will take place on the 24th. Thursday I will begin picking out carpet, surfaces, fixtures, etc. This is all very exciting and relieving...but...I hate to see him go. Thankfully it's just 5 weeks, it's a good pre-deployment experience, and we will be able to call each other...unlike on an actual deployment. I think I've felt a more urgent need to "settle" and make a cement "home" because of John. I want him to feel like he has somewhere to come home to and not just a hotel room. I'm sooo excited to finally have our stuff and be able to unpack for real and get used to it here.
I'm ready for home.
